Be still and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10)
Today is Election Day in New Hampshire - and across the country. Some of our churches are polling places, and others are open all day for those seeking a quiet place for prayer and reflection. News stories indicate that there is an abundance of “election anxiety” this year. Conference staff members are available to offer support to churches, clergy and individuals during this season of uncertainty. You are welcome to stop by the NH Conference office today until 5pm to chat, or for a safe space to reflect in prayer. Don’t hesitate to be in touch.
We offer this prayer of benediction for today from the Our Faith Our Vote 2024 resource of the United Church of Christ and the Rev. Dr. Ginny Brown Daniel:
Go out from this place nourished in the love of God our Creator. May our communal prayer on election day be for Divine Peace to surround all voters, candidates, and election workers long after the polls are closed. In the name of God our Creator, Christ, who teaches us to love, and the Holy Spirit that inspires new life in our community. This day and forevermore. Amen.
Blessings and peace,
Campbell Lovett, Sabbatical Bridge Conference Minister
Sara Marean, Associate Conference Minister
