Most of the delegation gathered at the Concord, NH bus terminal on July 22, 2024 at 4:00 PM and stopped for a quick photo before they were off to Logan Airport, where they met up with Stephanie Westergren at terminal E around 6:45 pm.

Stephanie Reports: Terminal E is no joke! It was super busy because, as we learned, most international flights to Europe and the middle east are evening flights.
Our first flight was to Qatar, which is 7 hours ahead of EST. We boarded the plane at 9:00 PM and were very impressed with the quality of the plane itself. We were all sitting together until Mandy realized there was an (almost) empty row. She moved 2 rows up, which left Sarah and I with more room. On an 11-hour flight, you take all the room you can get!
I slept on and off and realized quickly that, even though Qatar Airways is rated incredibly highly for their economy class, that doesn't mean people with long legs (like me) have any extra room. I hope the gentleman in front of me wasn't too bothered by my knees in the back of his seat!
There was a forward-facing camera UNDER the plane!

See Day 2 for details about the Layover!
