I don’t want to say very much this week. Rather I want to share with you a gift and I don’t want my words to distract from this gift. The gift is coming through me but isn’t from me. It is a gift from our fellow sojourners in the Minnesota Conference. With all that is happening in Minneapolis right now, there impetus was to give us a gift to remind us that part of our call as church is to keep bringing hope into the world no matter how challenging that may be. I know I am inspired by both their gift and their witness.
The gift is a song that has been written based on their faithful response to what is happening in Minneapolis. You will find the music video of the song here: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1368948921179804.
But as I said, this is a gift. The Minnesota Conference has given permission for all of our churches to use this song in worship or other meaningful settings. To that end, we are also providing the song lyrics, lyrics with cords, and the sheet music:
Without question, for many these are hard days. I hope, even as we face into hard days, we can think about what gifts we have to offer to help keep hope alive in our world.
