Meeting People Where They Are: Exploring Context, Theology and Ministry that propels us into Ministry Outside the Church
In Person
This course explores the reality of ministering in a region which has been identified by the Pew Research Center as the least religious in the country. Because people are not coming into our churches, and many have deep suspicions of the church, we will delve into the realities experienced in ministering within that context.
Our 4 sessions will focus on:
An Introduction to the world we live in and how to read your community
How to know what you believe and be able to talk about it, so that it feels natural to engage in conversation concerning God.
Public Ministry where our Christian values are expressed as a statement of faith in the larger community.
New Ways of Ministry will be shared and imagined.
The class will culminate in a tangible project which you will discern, develop, and implement over the course of our time together. Class time will be set aside for collaborate with others on this project.
